Mateja Mijatovic

Mateja for nearly two decades shaped marble to perfection, creating exquisite works of art. Sculptor, born in Belgrade in 1977. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara in Italy (Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara), Department of Sculpture, in the class of renowned professor Pier Giorgio Balocchi. He currently lives and works in the city of the marble – Arandjelovac (Serbia), at the foot of the famous marble mountains Venčac. Mateja interest in creating a marble varies from iconography to pop-art art, baroque detail of the complex to the simple modern form of flirtation stability to defy gravity. Mateja is fully committed to expressing their ideas and emotions in marble, and the study of nature and the language of marble.

Each Mateja’s sculpture brings the viewer a vision of the past, present and future of the printed into a single artistic expression. Mateja has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Serbia, Malta, etc., where his work has been recognized as outstanding. Mateja’s sculptures now adorn the galleries and private collections in almost all continents.
